CALYPSO is benefiting from the close collaborations established by the project team with the Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planetologie in Toulouse (PI institution for the CIS experiment). The results of CALYPSO are communicated to IRAP on a regular basis for evaluation, validation and implementation in the data processing chain. CALYPSO is also taking advantage of the good collaboration with the University of New Hampshire, responsible for the in-flight calibration of CODIF (the second sensor of the CIS experiment) and with Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie de l'Environnement et de l'Espace, Orleans (PI to the WHISPER experiment).
The project relies on the in-situ measurements taken on-board the European Space Agency's Cluster mission. The full access to the CIS experimental data is granted. The access to WHISPER data is open through Cluster Active Archive data base.
The project implementation closely follows the project objectives:
O1, Completing the HIA in-flight absolute calibration: Nov. 2013 - Sep. 2016.
O2, HIA - WHISPER statistical comparisons in various plasma environments: May 2014 - Jul. 2015.
O3, Anode and energy dependence of HIA in-flight efficiency: Feb. 2015 - Sep. 2016.
O4, In-flight calibration of He++ measurements provided by HIA: Jul. 2014 - Apr. 2016.
